The Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet) is responsible for Denmark’s national road network, including motorways, main roads, and many of the country’s bridges, spanning approximately 4,000 kilometres. To support its 24/7 traffic monitoring operations, the organization upgraded its control room with a VuWall visualization platform delivered by AV CENTER, the project’s system integrator. The new system gives operators a more efficient and flexible way to manage live camera feeds, web-based information, broadcast content, and operational data across the main control room and training environment.
The Road Directorate was looking to replace a legacy VuWall2 system installed in 2018 that had performed reliably for years, but no longer aligned with evolving operational needs. Displaying secure web-based sources had become cumbersome, expanding the system required additional hardware cards, and the centralized architecture added complexity through bulky infrastructure and extensive cabling. The organization needed a more agile solution that would be easier to control, easier to expand, and better suited to a mission-critical traffic environment.

AV-Center was contacted by the costumer back in 2023 for a more modern system which was easier to control and expand….the choice was easy…VuWall TRx. We contacted Fineman Display-IT as we had done many successful installations with them in the past and also to ensure that all details were covered from the start.

Project Sales Manager, AV CENTER
AV CENTER, a longtime VuWall partner, worked with Fineman Display-IT, VuWall’s value-added distributor in the region, to deliver a fully IP-based visualization platform for the Danish Road Directorate. The deployment included VuWall’s TRx centralized management platform, an Application Server for secure handling of web-based content, VuStream encoders, PAK video wall and KVM nodes, and ControlVu touch panels.

Built on a fully IP-based architecture, the solution simplified source and display management, reduced the system footprint, and made it much easier to add new inputs, outputs, and new capabilities over time. The platform now drives the main Samsung LED video wall in the control room as well as displays in the training room, while also integrating with a Crestron control interface programmed by AV CENTER for simple day-to-day operation. Beyond the infrastructure improvements, VuWall enables the entire video wall to be treated as a unified canvas, making it easier to design and manage complex layouts. Operators can combine live camera feeds, web content, operational dashboards, and broadcast sources in a flexible and consistent way. The platform’s container-based layout management further simplifies workflows by allowing multiple content sources to be grouped and controlled within defined regions of the video wall.
Working with the VuWall team was an absolute pleasure. They provided excellent support during both the design and implementation phases, contributing to the successful deployment of this project.

System Administrator, Digitalization and IT, Danish Road Directorate
With the new system in place, the Traffic Operations team can more efficiently monitor road conditions using Milestone video feeds, TV2 News, external traffic information, and other operational sources within a unified visual workspace. The upgraded platform preserves a familiar workflow while giving operators a more structured and user-friendly way to manage their visual environment. It also provides more secure handling of web-based sources, a cleaner and more scalable foundation for future growth, and the flexibility to deploy and manage screens in remote locations without dedicated video cabling or specialized hardware at each endpoint.

AV CENTER delivers integrated AV and control room solutions tailored to the needs of professional and mission-critical environments.
