VuWall enables sustainable training in the new Siemens visitor & advanced service centre in Vienna, Austria
Training for users, customers and employees is essential for the success of a company like Siemens. Training content must be conveyed in a structured, memorable and easy-to-use manner; especially in the field of security and building management systems. This case study illustrates how different professional technologies are being used to fill the needs of this training centre.
The central visualization surface at the Siemens Building Technologies Division in Vienna is a 4×3 LCD wall built with 12 AG Neovo 55 inch displays, all connected to a VuScape video wall controller in combination with VuWall2 PRO video wall management software.
To summarize Siemens’ needs, the solution had to provide:
- Specific product requirements for the in-house Siemens 24/7 training centre,
- Professional state-of-the-art and 24/7 reliable processing system and monitors,
- Flexible management tools to accommodate the specific operational needs of the training and presentation centre.
These requests could not be fulfilled with regular projection technology. The LCD video wall, along with VuWall’s powerful yet simple-to-use video wall management solution was able to meet the requirements of the various usage scenarios for this demo room.
With regard to the display solution, AG Neovo could deliver on its long-established product advantages such as 24/7 design, the longest product life cycles, image quality and robustness.
As far as control is concerned, VuWall (AG Neovo’s partner for video wall control solutions) could convince with the VuScape 24/7 video wall controller, which met all the customer’s requirements and beyond. Thanks to the easy-to-use and versatile VuWall2 video wall management software, and the ability to upgrade the hardware on-site if needed, the system is also ready for future needs.
In the Visitor & Advanced Service Centre, PC-controlled demo systems are set up for training in domains such as security, fire detection, automation and migration; and all need to be displayed in an interactive way. Training participants, customers and employees alike, must be able to cooperate with the trainer, but at the same time, they should also be capable of controlling and designing the content on their own.
The complete installation of the Siemens visitor and advanced service centre, was carried out by the team of Walter Michor and Adolf Semmler, whom, according to their own statements, would never have been able to build such a system by themselves. However, once installed, they were quickly able to manage the system without any further support.
“The monitor wall convinced us both of the technical and mechanical properties. Despite the size, the wall was built in a short time. We were also very impressed with the video wall management system. It can do almost everything”, said Ing. Walter Michor, Marketing Manager Siemens AG Austria, Building Technologies. He continues: “Especially the easy and direct access with functional keys to different work scenario is one of the main purpose of using the vuwall controller.”
Adolf Semmler states: “We are very happy with our new system and the collaboration between the different suppliers. Our expectations were not only met but exceeded.”
