Smooth Sailing with Smarter Control

How MSC Cruise Management Transformed Its 24/7 Operations with VuWall and Cinos

MSC Cruise Management UK, part of one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing cruise lines, runs a 24/7 control center in Uxbridge to ensure safety and coordination of its global fleet. As operations grew, the existing control room—relying on multiple PCs and disjointed workflows—became a bottleneck to efficiency and real-time decision-making. To modernize, MSC partnered with AV integrator Cinos and deployed VuWall’s TRx Centralized Management Platform.

VuWall’s technology transformed the space, streamlining content control and boosting collaboration. With integrated VuStream encoders, a ControlVu touch interface, and seamless video wall management, the upgraded system gave MSC’s operators the flexibility, visibility, and responsiveness to operate confidently and agilely—now and into the future.

Défi

MSC’s Maritime Support Centre (MSC) in Uxbridge operates 24/7 to ensure the safety and coordination of vessels around the world. The control room team was limited by a fragmented setup, requiring multiple computers to access different systems. Operators couldn’t view multiple dashboards or switch between sources quickly. Collaboration with other departments and remote offices was also hindered by the lack of integration across locations.

Requirements

  • Centralized access to operational dashboards and data

  • Improved visibility and decision-making

  • Real-time content switching across multiple sources

  • Integration with other offices and departments

  • A reliable, scalable platform without disrupting 24/7 operations

Solution

Cinos, a trusted AV integration partner, delivered a comprehensive upgrade centered around VuWall’s TRx centralized management platform. The new setup included:

  • VuWall TRx for unified control of all video wall content

  • VuStream encoders to broadcast desktops directly to the video wall

  • Panneau tactile ControlVu for managing video, audio, and lighting from one interface

  • Integration with existing Samsung LED displays

  • Linking the president’s and communications offices for cross-room content sharing

  • Custom display layouts and presets tailored to operator workflows

  • Microsoft Teams Rooms integration for improved cross-site collaboration

Deployed in just four months, during live operations, with near-zero downtime.

Résultats

MSC’s upgraded control room now supports:

  • Instant content switching from a single dashboard

  • Real-time monitoring and response across departments

  • Stronger collaboration between control room and executive offices

  • Reduced operator workload by eliminating redundant hardware and manual processes

  • Scalability for future growth, including plans to expand to the Geneva office

“The upgrade has allowed our team to effortlessly switch between multiple content sources and enhanced our ability to monitor and respond in real time. Cinos has delivered a solution that strengthens collaboration and supports our long-term needs.”
